Protection

Before you begin your spiritual journey, you should know about protecting yourself. Any time you venture into the spirit or use any type of divination tools, you open yourself to many possible negative or harmful energies. This can occur by simply being close to someone that has a very negative attitude or uses negative words and thoughts toward you.

When I am ready to do anything, be it a cleansing, psychic work or just continuing on my own journey, I always ask the angels to come down and envelope me in their white light. I believe in GOD, so I pray to him to watch over and protect me as I continue. I'm in no way suggesting you need to pray to GOD, you should follow your own mind and ask for protection from whatever higher being you follow in faith. I will also use different crystals, such as smoky quartz or obsidian, to help me stay grounded when I am doing psychic work. I won't get into crystals much in this post, but will follow up soon with an extensive post on crystals. Burning a white candle and imaging the light of the candle encircling you as you ask for protection is also a good way to protect yourself.

I've heard tales from people who played with different divination tools, such as the Ouija board or tarot cards, and had some very scary experiences. First let me say, if they had performed some sort of protection they may not have had the bad experience. Second, you should realize these are not toys and unless you are using them in a serious fashion, you cannot expect to get good results. I'm in no way trying to discourage anyone from exploring these tools, but just advising you to be careful until you know what you're doing. If you truly are interested in learning how to use them, I strongly suggest you seek the teaching of someone who is using them properly for guidance.

WELCOME TO EVERYTHING SPIRIT

I would like this space to be a safe haven for everyone to share their thoughts, beliefs and personal experiences without feeling judged or uncomfortable. I realize there are many skeptics that say these ideals are wrong or evil. We’ll always have people who will think we’re weird, wacky or a little crazy, and just as we are entitled to our beliefs, we have to allow them theirs. My hope is for all to keep an open mind.

What are your beliefs? Do you think our loved ones come to us, either to give us a message or just to connect? Do you believe it’s real, or just your imagination? Have you had a reading that surprised even you?

If you read my profile, you’ll see I was raised with a paternal grandmother that had special abilities. People came to her for readings, to remove negative elements from their homes and selves, or sometimes just for guidance. Although they came to her, many shunned her because they were in fear or ashamed to admit they believed. My maternal great grandmother was often referred to as a witch, however, those that knew her personally felt she was a warm, loving lady. Had they both been alive today, people may have looked at them in a different light, because it seems each generation becomes more enlightened.

Are we really becoming more enlightened, or have we always been? Is the world and it’s people becoming more spiritual or have we just come out of the closet with our beliefs? I look forward to hearing your answers and comments.
