Citrine - The Stone of Success

Citrine is often called the stone of the mind and also the stone of lucky merchants. It’s said that if a merchant puts a citrine in the cash register drawer, it will bring abundance and success to the business. It attracts wealth, prosperity and success to its user. Its element is Fire, planet is Jupiter and Zodiac is Aries, Gemini, Leo and Libra. It is used as the birthstone for November and is the stone for jewelry given for the thirteenth anniversary. Citrine is a good stone to use for scrying for matters of money and other forms of property.

While most stones are cleaned by using a salt water bath, buried in the earth or a smudging, Citrine is self cleansing and can be used to cleanse other crystals. When charging this stone, it is best done in the moonlight rather than sunlight as it should be kept out of strong light.

Citrine is associated with the Sacral, Solar Plexus and Crown Chakra. It can be used to clean the chakra and opens the intuition. It’s a great stone to align with the higher self and protect your aura. You can use it for emotional balancing, energizing and recharging. Also good for enhancing concentration, revitalizing the mind, and stimulates the brain strengthening the intellect. It will open the mind to new thoughts and promote clarity of thought. Imparts joy, wonder, delight, enthusiasm promotes motivation, activates creativity and encourages self-expression.
While it will release negative traits, depression, fears and phobias; it will also protect from the negative energy from someone else’s abuse.

Citrine has many healing attributes as well, including promotes and helps stimulate digestion, the spleen and pancreas. It negates kidney and bladder infections, as well as relieves constipation. It helps with eye problems, blood circulation, detoxifies the blood, activates the thymus and balances the thyroid.

Something I just recently learned about Citrine that I will certainly being using it to see how well it works, is that is removes cellulite. This alone may make Citrine one of my very favorite stones.
If you have any questions about Citrine or any other stone, please let me know and I’ll try to find the answers you need. You can contact me here, through my blog, on face book at http://facebook.com/msyvonnelp, or email me at msyvonnereading@yahoo.com.

Angelite - The Communication Stone

Angelite has to be one of my favorite stones, if for no other reason than the beautiful blue color is so very calming for me. It’s often used as a way to communicate with Angels or to connect with animal spirit guides. This stone is used for several different chakra areas, including the fifth throat, sixth or third eye, and also the seventh crown. It is associated with the element of wind.

While I have heard many use this stone to assist in astral travel, I have never used it for that purpose myself. I am told if you are using this stone for astral travel, it’s recommended to have a stone such as hematite handy for grounding. Often two people, each having the stone on their person, use it for telepathic communication.

From my research on this stone, I find that it is one that should never be cleansed with water, so I would advise using sage or whatever you use to smudge instead. My understanding is that if you have jewelry containing Angelite, you should never wear it while swimming or bathing.

Here are some of its other amazing properties and uses:

  • Healing of anger
  • Used to unlock secrets, brings out the truth
  • Promotes inner peace and tranquility
  • Alleviates suffering
  • Helps to expand awareness
  • Allows for self-expression
  • Provides energetic support to bone density and growth
  • Helps with arthritis and osteoporosis as it can assist in attaining mobility of the joints and range of motion
  • Helps dissolve calcification in the joints
  • Can help with eating disorders caused or brought on by emotions or stress
  • Used for relief of throat inflammation
  • Helps to balance the thyroid
  • Angelite is associated with the wind element.

This is an excellent stone to use for dream work as it can help you to remain lucid and remember guidance received during the dreams. It is also known to help tune into memories of past lives.

Again as always, if you have any questions about this stone or if there are any others you would like me to research, please let me know. If there any properties for Angelite that I've missed, I hope you use a comment to add them.

Carnelian - Energy Booster

First, I would like to take a moment to address something about crystals. I’ve had several people mention they felt using crystals was in some way bad or had to do with magic. The crystals I use are all natural and come from the earth. Now, if you believe as I do that GOD created the world, than you have to believe since these came from that earth he created, they would have healing properties.

The Carnelian was once considered to be only owned by the noble class, with a high social status. There were often buried with the nobles to protect the traveler after death and guard against evil.

It is a variety of chalcedony, and come in shades of light to very dark red. It’s affiliated with Taurus, Cancer, Leo and Virgo signs of the Zodiac. It is often used on either the root or sacral chakra. The Carnelian is often given as jewelry for the 17th anniversary.

The Carnelian has a long list of properties, but is most associated with giving an energy boost. The other properties are as follows:

  • Protects from bad vibrations
  • Helps give a sense of humor
  • Calms the temper
  • Helps those with self doubt find their inner strength
  • Boost and helps improve appetite
  • Purifies the blood
  • Relieves menstrual cramps
  • Beneficial in the treatment of infertility
  • Enhances passion and desire
  • Helps remove fears
  • Protects against envy and rage
  • Used for help with kidney problems
  • Helps fight against colds and pollen allergies

It is often used by artist, as it is also known to promote creativity. As you can see it is a stone used for many reasons, and has a vast number of healing properties.

The Carnelian can be easily found for purchase from many sites on the internet, but always be sure you are getting the natural stone, and not a simulated variety. I will soon be selling the stones and my hand made jewelry on my website http://www.readingsbymsyovnne.com/ and will let you know when my shop is open for business.

If you have any questions regarding the Carnelian or another stones, please contact me through my blog or on face book at http://facebook.com/msyvonnelp.

Amethyst - Stone of Psychic Power

I use crystals in many ways and am always offering that information to my clients for their use. Lately, I’m receiving more and more questions about the different crystals and their use. For this reason, I thought I would write a few articles here to pass on that information.

I’m starting with Amethyst because this is a crystal I personally use often. It’s often referred to as the stone of psychic power. Most people know that it’s the birthstone for February and it’s purple. This stone can actually come in many shades from very light lilac to a beautiful deep purple. It’s a variety of quartz.

Over the centuries, Amethyst has been believed to be a healing stone and used for a variety of things. It has been used to guard against drunkenness and thought to help overcome addiction.
It has many properties including:
  • Calms emotions and reduces stress
  • Gives holder more optimistic and uplifting perspective
  • Powerful amulet for travelers
  • Transmitter of healing power of the universe
  • Increases psychic awareness
  • Kept with divination tool to enhance their qualities
  • Placed under the pillow, it helps with insomnia and induces prophetic dreams
  • Used to induce harmony
  • Helps promote mediation
  • Helps clear the aura
  • Boost hormones
  • Aids with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and helps the immune system
  • Used on the crown chakra

While it is the stone for February, its beautiful color makes it a favorite stone for jewelry. Its properties will not be affected if it’s placed in jewelry, just be sure that it’s a natural stone and not man made. It can be carried in a pocket, or my favorite place to carry it ladies, placed inside the cup of your bra. Placed under the pillow or inside your pillow slip, it will help with insomnia. If used in healing on, you can also just place it on the part of the body that needs to be healed.

These are just some of the uses for Amethyst, and if you have another use or know of more properties, please feel free to share that information with us. If you have any questions, please let me know and if I don’t have the information available, I’ll see what I can do to find out for you.

Roadblocks On My Spiritual Journey

If I had to pick one, and quite possibly the biggest, roadblock on my own spiritual journey, I’d have to confess it’s me. I truly think I caused my journey to be disrupted several times due to my own skepticism, self doubt and fear. I alone have caused my journey to be quite a bumpy rollercoaster of a ride.

I’ve known I was different since a very young age. While many had to face this alone, I was so fortunate to have a grandmother that recognized my abilities and was there to guide me. I wish I could say I listened to her and allowed her to guide me through my journey, but that would only be a half truth. I was scared of things that happened and embarrassed my friends would think I was weird, so I fought it as hard as I could and refused to accept this could happen to me. True, I loved Grams so much, followed her around, dressed like her, and wanted to be like her, but just without her abilities. When strange and crazy things happened, she was always there to explain it. I would cry and tell her I didn’t want dead people talking to me, only to have her tell me how special I was to have them want to visit with me to pass on messages to their loved ones still here. While I might want to know if I was going to be a rock star when I grew up, I didn’t really want to know what was going to happen to other people and please don’t let it be anything bad. She would explain how I could help them by letting them know what to expect so they could make the right choices. Nope, that didn’t help me; let someone else have these messages to deliver, I just didn’t want to it to be me. My mom passed away when I was only eight and it really threw me into a spin. I was mad at her for leaving me, but even madder at GOD because I couldn’t understand how he could be so mean to take her when he knew I needed her. Again it was my Grams that finally got through to me and made me realize GOD wasn’t being mean to me and there was always a reason behind what he did. In my early teens I finally realized she was right, he wasn’t being mean to me, but instead saving my mom from a life of pain. I apologized to him and thanked him for taking good care of my mom.

In my late teens and early twenties, I finally accepted it wasn’t going away and it was time for me to embrace it and learn to work with it to help others. Then came my skepticism and self doubt era. I was giving readings but began to doubt if the message I was giving was real or just my own thoughts of what I wanted for the client. I was fortunate to find a mentor to help me overcome my self doubt and teach me to give better readings.

I still continue on my journey, reading, researching, and learning more every day. There are still times I doubt myself, but I work at getting through those rough spots and try to come out with more understanding of myself and my abilities.

This is just a little of how I’ve stumbled through my journey and I hope you’ll share your own struggles.

Why I Charge For Readings

I don’t think a day goes by where someone doesn’t ask me for a free reading. When I say I don’t give free readings, they ask why I charge for my grift. If it’s a gift, I should share it for free. So I’m going to try to be as polite as I can muster and explain why I charge for my readings.

While some may call it a gift, I instead look at it as an abilitry. Even if I were to refer to it as a gift, I would still charge. Surgeons, musicians, artists and most talented people are said to be given a gift. Do you question them why they charge for their surgeries, music or paintings? I really doubt most would even bring up the subject. Yet I and others with the same types of abilities are constantly asked. We are professionals and take our work seriously.

Doing readings is how I earn my living. While it’s great to work from home, it’s not as great as you may think. I live on the west coast, with many of my clients on the east coast. Since this is a three hour time difference, I may have to get up between 4am and 5am so they can have their reading before they start their day. I also have clients on the other side of the world, different time zones, sometimes different days, and I may have to stay up till 2am or 3am because that’s the time they are usually on the computer and asking for a reading. If I have a lot of readings to do, I may only get 2 to 3 hours off to eat, sleep and hopefully take a shower. Many of my email readings can take as long as an hour or more to perpare.

When I do readings from the http://liveperson.com/ms-yvonne website, I have to pay to use their platform. I’m charged a commission for each and every reading I perform, rather it be live chat or eamil. I have to pay to host my own web site, http://www.readingsbymsyvonne.com/. I have to spend a lot of my time and sometimes my money to promote my business. If I didn’t charge you, I would have to pay to give my readings.

I have bills just like everyone else, so yes, I have to charge for my readings if I want to have a roofe over my head and food on the table. This is my job and just like you, I don’t like working for free.

When you need a reading, whether it be from me or someone else, remember they are trying to make a living just like you, so please don’t expect them to do it for free.

Why and How To Smudge

It seems many people are hearing about the wonderful effects of smudging and I am constantly asked to explain the process and results. While most are hearing about it now being used by many high end clients to help sell their homes, it has really been around for many centuries and used by cultures from all over the world. Yes, it is a long time traditional ceremony used by Native Americans, but the people of India, China, and many other cultures have been using the smoke from herbs, plants or incense for centuries also.

There are many reasons why you might want to have a smudging done on yourself and your home. It can help remove negative energy, bad spirits, spiritual cleansing and many other reasons we will look at in this article.

Before moving into a new home, I always suggest doing a complete smudging to remove any negative energy left behind by the former occupants. This will assure you’re starting out in your new home with good energy. While many feel they don’t have negative energy around them, that is just not the case. I’m sure we all know people that always seem to be angry and refuse to see any good things in their lives. These are the type of people that can leave negative energy where ever they go, including your normally peaceful home. A good smudging after they leave will bring that wonderful feeling back to your home. Actually you don’t need a reason to smudge, it can just be something you do on a regular basis. Just as you do your regular cleaning and dusting, a cleansing of your body and environment is a good habit to follow.

You don’t need anything expensive or elaborate to smudge, however, I would suggest buying your herbs from a reliable source. While most people use white sage, you can also use western red cedar or sweet grass. I see a lot of places on the web suggest you use an abalone shell for burning, but in most of the Native American teachings I’ve read, they feel the shell is from the ocean and should only be used in water ceremonies, never burning. Instead, you should consider using a stone, clay or glass bowl. I don’t use the separate leaves, but use a smudge stick. Some I have are just the white sage, but I also have sticks that contain white sage, red cedar and sweet grass all combined. Although I use the sticks, I find that sometimes the lit ash tends to drop, so I always put my stick into a large glass ashtray filled with dirt. This also serves as a way to extinguish the sage when I’m done with my smudging.

Before you begin smudging or doing any type of ritual or ceremony, it’s very important that you first ground yourself and invoke protection. There are many ways to do this, but I’ll try to give you an easy method for both. For the grounding, standing with your eyes closed, imagine you are a tree and feel the roots coming down into the floor. You can protect yourself by picturing a safe white light coming down to surround you, as you ask whatever higher entity of your belief to protect as you smudge.

Light the sage leaves or stick, then blow out the flame so you have a nice strong plume of smoke. As you recite prayers asking to help you remove the negative energy, use your hands to first surround your body in the smoke. Continue with this until you have cleansed your entire body. To begin the cleansing of your home, start in the farthest left corner from where you enter your home. Using a clockwise circular motion, walk through each room, making sure to cover the entire area including the corners, until you have completed the cleansing of your entire home. When you are finished, make sure to completely extinguish the sage and remember to say a thank you prayer for the help provided during the cleansing.

For me personally, after I have finished my smudging with the sage, I go back and do it again with a calming herb to help bring a relaxing calm feeling back to the whole house. You can burn calming herbs, such as lavender, chamomile, or valerian. If you don’t have the herbs, you can use candles, incense or any type of aromatherapy scent like lavender, sandalwood, vanilla, ginger or cinnamon. You can also just boil a little water on the stove and drop in a few lavender buds or cinnamon sticks to achieve the same results.

In older homes, especially after major renovations, you might have stronger energies or spirits that refuse to be removed. If you are having major problems or a lot of negative energies surrounding you, a simple cleansing may not be enough. In these cases, it might require a professional to come in to do a more through cleansing. I do this type of cleansing in my immediate area, but if you need someone in your area, please contact me and I would be happy to help you find a trusted professional to help.

If you have any questions or need further guidance, please contact me through my blog and I’ll be glad to help where I can.

Current Family and Ancestors Birthdates, Coincidence or Spiritual Connection

I’ve been trying to do my family tree and have come across something that got me to thinking about family birthdays. We have a very large family, so even keeping track of our current members can be a daunting task, so until I started doing the research, I had no idea how many had the same dates as our ancestors. Is this just a coincidence or something more?

As I mentioned, we have a very large family so when some birthdays were on the same dates, I never really paid much attention. Now that I’ve been looking back at some of our ancestors going back more than three hundred years and finding the same dates, it really has me thinking.
My sister, my niece and I all have a son born on May 10, just different years. I just thought how nice this was, nothing more, until I found that was also the birthday of my grandfather. He had passed several years before I was born, so it wasn’t something I knew till I began my research. Another sister has a granddaughter born the same day as an uncle who had passed away several decades before she was born. As I continue my research, I’m finding more and more of the same.

I don’t believe in coincidences, instead everything happens for a reason, so I’ve been trying to find any type of statistic on the subject. Currently, I haven’t been able to find anything, so I have nothing but my own family numbers and my own personal opinion. I can’t but think there is a spiritual connection to the family through the numbers of the birthdates.
What about children being born on the anniversary of older family members passing? Is there a spiritual connection? This came up in a recent conversation with one of my younger sisters, actually it kind of freaked her at first. We had a brother that was born and passed in the early 1940’s. Since my own mother had passed when we were both very young, we really didn’t know exactly when he passed or where he was interred. I just recently found his grave site, along with the date of his death and his burial. The date of his burial was the same as her birthday, the year was just reversed, his burial 1945, her birth 1954. Again, I feel this was not a coincidence, but instead a spiritual connection between them. This also seems to be something that continues to repeat itself the more I research.

Is there a scientific reason for this? Is it a coincidence? I feel it’s a spiritual connection. What do you think? I hope you leave a comment and give me your own personal story or opinion on why this happens.

Why Do Bad Things Always Happen To Me?

Do you often ask why bad things always happen to you? Is someone blocking your path to success? Why do your relationships always seem to end badly? Look in the mirror and you will probably see the person stopping you from having the happy life you desire.
While I know this may sound mean, most times the answer is actually you. By this, I don’t mean you willingly set out to sabotage your life. Often we do this without actually realizing we’re the cause or the reason it continues to happen.
One of the main causes of this happening is negative attitude or thoughts. You may be saying I’m not negative but this can happen through a thought. Have you ever wanted to do something but tell yourself you don’t think you can? This one thought can trigger a lot of negative energy that balloons into many other areas of your life. When you think you can’t do something, most often you’ll convince yourself it just won’t happen. If that one thing you wanted doesn’t materialize, it can then cause a snowball affect spilling over into other decisions.
I’ll try to give you an example of how this can happen. You may want to change jobs and see an ad for a job that would be perfect for you. This job would be a boost for your career, while allowing you to earn more money. You mull it over and perhaps out of fear of being rejected, you decide not to apply. Because of this decision you stay in a job where you’re not really happy and now you have to work more hours just to be able to pay the rent. If you had gotten the new job, you could have made enough money to not only pay your rent, but move into a better home. So you can see how one negative thought can project itself into other areas of your life and make it seem as though something is blocking you from getting the things you want, yet it was you.
Sometimes without understanding why, you may feel as though you’re in a rut and you just can’t seem to get out. Just when things are going good, something happens to push you back. Without realizing it, you may be putting yourself there by making the same bad choices you’ve done in the past. This by no means makes you a bad person, just someone who needs to change their way of making decisions.
With all of this said, sometimes bad things just do happen to good people and it can be something out of your control. Your company downsizing causes you to lose your job can often start a spiral on all areas of your life. This is out of your personal control and not your fault.
If these are questions you often ask yourself, don’t get discouraged. The first step in fixing the situation is to identify the cause. Once you know why it’s happening, you can then work to make the changes you need to get the life you deserve.
I’ve helped many clients to recognize the problem and I’d be happy to help you. I start by doing a reading to see the root of the problem and what changes need to be made to turn things around. If you’d like my help, please contact me through my website
http://www.readingsbymsyvonne.com

Ms. Yvonne
