My Personal Memory of September 11, 2001

On September 11, 2011, I awoke to a phone call from my sister. She was crying and told me to turn on the television. I sat and watched in tears as our country was attacked. I called my children, my family and friends while I worried about my husband who was driving a gasoline tanker on the freeways and streets of Southern California. I felt hopeless, I couldn't think, all I could do was watch in terror as the planes hit the towers, the pentagon and the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania not knowing how close it was to my family living there. I sat down at my computer and these are my thoughts that just seemed to tumble from my fingertips onto my computer screen.

Attack On America                    Feelings of Yvonne McAdams Peramaki    September 11, 2001

 I didn’t see the explosion,
I couldn’t hear the loud boom,
I was clear across the country,
In a place I thought I would always be safe,
 Here in my own home,
 Sitting in my living room.

How could this have happened?
Brought our world to a halt,
 As people run for cover
Refuge for their lives being sought.
They have closed down our whole country,
Who could have been so mean?
 And on every television station,
Devastation is all that is seen.
 Words can not express enough
The great sorrow that we feel
For those who lost their lives
 In those hijacked airplanes
And those buildings made of steel.

 How do I explain this?
Should I let them know my fears?
What do we tell our children?
As we all sit and watch in tears.
I guess we can only tell them
We will try to keep them safe
And try to teach them how to love,
And to say a prayer to God
For those who lost their lives
And are now with him above.

 What were they thinking?
As they hijacked those planes high in the air?
As long as they got their point across,
I guess they just really didn’t care.
Did they care about the grief?
Or the lives that would be lost?
Was their satisfaction with what they’d done,
Worth the human lives it cost.

Now 10 years later, as America and the World remembers and mourns, please take a few minutes from your busy life to say a prayer for the heroes of Flight 93, those that lost their lives in New York and at the Pentagon in the planes and on the ground. Say a prayer for all of the courageous men and woman who were first responders and for the brave men and women in our armed forces, police departments, fire departments and homeland security that are still on the job trying to keep our country safe.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

Positive Energy Vs. Negative Energy

I know you’ve heard me say this about a million times, if you put out positive energy it will attract positive energy, while putting out negative energy will attract negative energy.Do you want to see if it really works, read on and take my challenge?
A few months ago, I met a wonderful lady (who has given me permission to use our discussion) on the internet that asked me to help her with her own spiritual journey. We chat several times a week and it seems the main subject we most discuss is the need for her to change her mindset. We are currently in the process of getting her to stop saying I can’t and start believing she can do what she needs to make a better life for herself. One of the first things I noticed in our chats was her continual negative responses, so something we work at on a regular basis.
First of all, no you cannot always be positive and there will be times a negative thought crosses your mind. We are human and it’s human nature for this to happen, however, you can try to turn those negatives into something positive. Strictly speaking for myself, when I get a negative thought (yes, I’m human too and get them), I try to stop and see why I feel this way. Sometimes I have to step back from the situation, take a deep breath and see if I can change my own attitude. I wish I could say it works every time, but sometimes I just have to realize there are things happening in my life I can’t fix and try to get past it.
Bad things do happen to good people and sometimes it just isn’t your fault. For instance if you are driving down the road, another driver is texting and hits your car. No, you did not put out negative energy and cause this to happen. However, if you’re driving, angry because the traffic isn’t going fast enough, people are getting in your way, and the anger is causing you to be inattentive to the point you don’t see the traffic in front of you stopping and you hit someone else, that is a good example of negative energy bringing negative results.
I decided the best way to help my friend was to give her a challenge. For one 24 hour period she will try her best to put out only positive energy. If she starts to feel the negative creep in, she will stop, push it out of her mind and find something positive to replace it. On the second day, she will put out negative energy, allowing herself to spew her anger and frustrations with whatever she feels. I ask that she keep a notebook handy and write down how she feels, physically, emotionally and spiritually throughout the two days. At the end of the challenge we will evaluate what she has written and see how the changes affect her.
I realize there are many skeptics, naysayers, and just plain I don’t believers out there. It’s okay, I was at that place myself at one time. But, if you’ve read this far, I offer this same challenge to you. Are you up for it? I’d love to hear your ideas, comments or even rebuttal.
Now, who will take the challenge?
P.S. A big thanks to my dear friend in allowing me to use our discussion as a jumping off point for this blog article.

Do You Believe In Healing Crystals?

Is using crystals for healing going against your Christian faith? While I touched on this topic in a previous post, I thought it needed to be looked at in more depth. I recently had a client to whom it was suggested using crystals and she felt it would go against her faith in GOD to use them. This is what led me to feel I needed to address this issue in more detail. I ask that you read the entire post before you make comments so you fully understand where this is going.

Please understand that I am using this client’s story with her permission. All readings and conversations resulting from those readings are always held in the strictest confidence, so without her permission I would not have used her story as a reference for this article. For the remainder of this article, I will refer to her as Ms. M.

Ms. M is the friend and fellow parishioner of one of my long time personal clients. Recently they were discussing rather or not they believed in the paranormal and psychics. My client confided in Ms. M that she did in fact believe in both and had been getting readings from me for many years. A few days after their conversation, Ms. M decided she would like to try a reading, however since she was skeptic and wasn’t sure she wanted anyone to know about it, she decided to answer an email for a free reading. She felt she had nothing to lose if the reading was free. The email sent her to an online site where she was connected to the person who owned the site. Instead of getting a full reading, she was only given a little information. The lady then tried to sell her a full reading and crystals that would help heal all that was wrong in her life, both being very expensive. Ms. M told the lady she wasn’t comfortable going any further and as she was a Christian, felt using the crystals were against her faith. The lady made some rude remarks about Ms. M being stupid and rather nasty remarks about her faith and clicked out.

Ms. M talked to her friend (my client) about the reading and the rudeness of the lady she had contacted. Her friend told her to go to my website, read the information I have on it, and if she felt comfortable to contact me letting me know she had referred her. I received her email and we decided to connect by phone to discuss my thoughts on crystal healing.

I assured her it was not my intent to change her belief or diminish her faith, just give her my own ideas on using crystals. While I currently do not practice a structured religion, I do have a strong faith in my beliefs. I believe that GOD created the universe, he is always around me and I can talk to him whenever I need. As I believe he created everything in nature, crystals are from the earth and part of his creation. Because they come from the earth and are not man made, they carry a very strong energy that can be used in may way, especially for healing energy. I cleanse them in salt water or with the smoke from sage and charge them in the moonlight. These again, are parts of nature and his creations. After a lengthy conversation, Ms. M was still unsure of how she felt about using crystals in regards to her faith but was interested in learning more about them. I suggested she might talk to her pastor about her conflict and get his ideas on whether or not it was against their faith. I also apologized to her on behalf of myself and many other ethical readers for her treatment by the other reader.

I’ve given you my beliefs on using crystals and how it fits into my faith. This in no way is meant to imply you should believe as I do, nor am I trying to influence your faith. Instead, it should be entirely your choice and your decision. However, if you do decide to use crystals and would like more information on their healing energies, I’d be glad to help you.

Now, in the beginning of this article I asked you read it through before adding comments and if you read this far, I thank you. I’ve given you my views and opinion, now I hope you’ll add your own.
